When I think of Christmas, I imagine snow-covered houses with swirling white smoke ushering from their chimneys. Children frolic outdoors and catch snow flakes on their tongues as they trail their sleds behind them. Inside, the fireplace crackles, and the stately tree is decked like a king at a banquet.
I am afraid that is not the depiction of Christmas you will find in this story. For some in this tale, it is a time of scheming, hiding, and stealing, because something is missing. And the stormy weather offers no picturesque backdrop for the season.
But God is faithful. Even in the midst of such dreary circumstances, one family finds hope in God’s timely provision; it is this same provision that lights the way for others. Discover how hope protects us from being swept away by life’s brutal storms, for true hope never disappoints.
