The Reformed Doctrine of Predestination

The Classic Work on the Doctrines of Grace

The most masterful and thorough treatment of the doctrines of grace and the subject of predestination ever put into print. For over 75 years, regarded as the authoritative written work in this field of theology.  Aside from chapters on each of the Five Points of Calvinism, The Reformed Doctrine of Predestination includes far more:

Chapters on:

* The Sovereignty of God
* The Providence of God
* The Foreknowledge of God
* Outline of Systems

Boettner also adeptly handles the major objections to these doctrines, each of which given a lengthy and fair consideration, such as:
* That it is Fatalism
* That it is Inconsistent with the Free Agency and Responsibility of Man
* That it Makes God the Author of Sin
* That it Discourages All Motives to Exertion
* That it Represents God as a Respecter of Persons, or as Unjustly Partial
* That it is Unfavorable to Good Morality
* That it Precludes a Sincere Offer of the Gospel to the Non-Elect
* That it Contradicts the Universalistic Scripture Passages

Finally, Boettner concludes with sections on:
* Salvation by Grace
* Personal Assurance That One is Among the Elect
* Predestination in the Physical World
* A Comparison with the Islamic Doctrine of Predestination
* The Practical Importance of the Doctrine
* Calvinism in History
