Providential Battles, Volume 3
Sabers, Spears, & Catapults
God, in His sovereignty, has ordained that war be a constant reality in history. The study of war reveals the providential means God has used to decide the course of men and nations, bringing judgment to one people while delivering another.
In Providential Battles Volume 3, historian William Potter presents two sets of historical lectures:
The First sect of lectures examines weapons and warfare in the Old Testament era. It will also examine the ways of war known to ancient Israel and some of the other civilizations in the centuries before the New Testament.
We now have this full Providential Battles CD set on a single Mp3 disc!
The Second set of lectures present a trilogy of battles that occurred in three different centuries, within a few miles of each other along the border of France and Belgium:
* Agincourt in 1415
* Waterloo in 1815
* The Somme in 1916
Examined for each conflict are the weapons technology of the period, and warriors in the battle.
1) Wars, Warriors, and Weapons of Bible Times
2) Agincourt: Longbows, Swords, and the End of an Era
3) Waterloo: The Gunpowder Revolution’s Greatest Harvest
4) The Somme: Mechanical Massacre in the 20th Century
