Praise Her in the Gates
The Calling of Christian Motherhood
For a Christian, motherhood is the subtle art of building a house in grace. The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands (Prov. 14:1), and Praise Her in the Gates shows how each of these are done. Building a home, childbirth, education, discipline – each of them calls for a holy joy and a love of beauty.
The mother who fears God does not fear the future. Each day’s work is significant, for it contributes toward the long-range plan. Each nail helps build a house that will stand in a storm. But motherhood is far from a simple formula. Nancy Wilson is a safe guide on this subject.
