No Other Gospel: Finding True Freedom in the Message of Galatians (Carol Ruvolo)

$13.99 $5.00

Paul’s letter to the Galatians confronts the “different gospel” that took root in first century Galatia and still entices believers today. The Apostle exposes it as a deadly distortion of truth and provides much needed correction. Understanding his teaching is as important today as it was then — and Carol Ruvolo does a masterful job, opening up this letter for us, with contemporary applications to our own modern “legalisms.”

Endorsements

“Legalism comes in many forms, all of them deadly. No book provides a more effective antidote to legalism than Paul’s letter to the Galatians. Carol Ruvolo has given us helpful, clear, sound, balanced exposition of its central message. You’ll find her examples thought provoking, and no doubt you’ll do some soul-searching, as have I, after thinking with her through Paul’s message. Most of all, you’ll be pointed to the glorious freedom we have in Christ.”

— Ligon Duncan, Senior Minister, First Presbyterian Church, Jackson, Mississippi

“Instructive, comforting, challenging—and so interesting that one can hardly put it down—this book will be on the suggested list of study materials for all Rafiki missionaries.”

—Rosemary Jensen, General Director, Rafiki Foundation

“An extremely usable guide to enable us to see the difference between legalism and God’s power of grace in Christ Jesus. Very readable, solidly biblical.”

—Charles Dunahoo, Coordinator for the Committee for Christian Education and Publications, Presbyterian Church in America

About the Author

Carol J. Ruvolo (BS, MBA, University of New Mexico) has taken graduate-level courses at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and several courses from Ligonier Ministries of Canada’s School of Theology. She has been teaching the Bible since 1983 and writing books on biblical themes since 1998. A longtime resident of Albuquerque, she now speaks at women’s conferences and retreats around the country. Though a devoted churchgoer from childhood, she did not experience God’s saving grace until she was an adult. Soon after her conversion, she quit her job at a national defense laboratory and began devoting her time to raising her daughter and studying the Scriptures. During the two years, she taught for the first time and realized that teaching is her spiritual gift.
