Her Husband’s Crown
A Wife’s Ministry and a Minister’s Wife
There are lots of books to help men prepare for the Christian ministry; but too few for their wives. She will have a major role, too. This is the best recent book we’ve seen for the pastor’s wife.
Subjects covered are: a quiet, peaceful home for him; being a wife and mother before being a pastor’s wife; being sympathetic and confidential as a listener; gentleness; speaking well of him in public; showing a Christ-like spirit to all; refraining from gossip; how to handle disagreement with your husband; encouraging him in prayer.
About the Author
Sara Leone is a homemaker and part time teacher at The Christian School of Grace Baptist Church, Carlisle, Pennsylvania, teaching beginning Spanish and a reading class.
Sara grew up surrounded by Banner books as her father, Jim Eshelman, was the manager of the US Banner of Truth office. In 1987 she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Grove City College. She has taught various grade levels in Christian schools in Illinois and Pennsylvania. Sara and her husband Scott were married in 1990 and have three adult children. Scott is a bivocational pastor in Perry County, Pennsylvania.
I just finished reading a borrowed copy of Her Husband’s Crown. I am now going to purchase multiple copies to share with others. This was easy to read but does not dumb down the word of God. Sara covered many guides for a pastor’s wife but most of what she wrote applies to all married women. I plan to give a copy to ladies as a bridal shower gift. Many books have been written on being a godly woman but mine are on a bookshelf with a bookmark in them where I stopped reading. Forty-eight pages of solid Biblical advice can be read without a need for a book mark!
Thank you Mrs. Leone.
