The Bible presents a clear pattern for fatherly oversight with regard to a son or daughter’s romantic interests and choices. This 4-CD sermon series covers the subject in a balanced way, discussing not only the promiscuous dating culture that many have blindly accepted, but also speaks to power-hungry parents who want unbiblical levels of control over the lives of their children.

Douglas Wilson’s thorough and excellent studies on courtship in this set include messages on: Parental Authority, Preparing Daughters, Preparing Sons, and The Culmination of Courtship

This material is exceptional in its emphasis on the Biblical role of parents in seeking a life partner for their child, in contrast with modern popular ideas of recreational dating.

* Preparing Sons
* The Culmination of Courtship

This material is exceptional in its emphasis on the Biblical role of parents in seeking a life partner for their child, in contrast with modern popular ideas of recreational dating.  See also Pastor Wilson’s book Her Hand in Marriage for a careful application of these same principles to fathers and daughters in particular.
