Homemaking

Images of the homemaker that come to mind are often those presented by the mockers: an apron-clad woman in the kitchen wearing a conservative dress, with a beaming smile as she stirs the pot of whatever’s for dinner.  So, while our liberal culture laughs at the idea of a woman in today’s modern age being anywhere other than out in the workplace, yet every family wants a well-kept, peaceful, and pleasant home.  How did previous generations enjoy this so often when ours does not?  Because there was a homemaker at home: the wife and mother devoting her life to the work that, frankly, is undeniably more important than much of what goes on in any office or marketplace: tending to one’s own home and children. The books below unashamedly honor that esteemed role, and are useful to help us return to such wisdom.
