Baptist History

Of all denominations represented in the history of the Christian church, the study of those who have identified themselves as Baptist is particularly rewarding.  Despite their flaws and failures, the Baptists, standing decisively for many centuries for the principle of a regenerate church membership and for believers-only baptism (sometimes known as credobaptism) has been their mark, and has also made them an object of scorn and even persecution in many places. The lives of devout men like John Bunyan, William Carey, Menno Simons, and Charles Spurgeon fill the landscape of this portion of the field of history.  Read of them in these selections and we believe you’ll be inspired to serve the Lord and His truth with courage and conviction.
